How to run a bingo game
- Hand out cards and markers (or dabbers) and agree on the pattern: a line, four corners, or blackout (full card).
- Press Call next number, or use Auto-call to call a new number every few seconds. You can also press the space bar.
- When a player shouts "Bingo!", pause and check their card against the board.
- Start a new game when you're ready. The numbers are reshuffled.
Tip: for a classroom or senior center, connect a laptop to a TV and show this page full screen. The called numbers are big enough to read across the room.
Popular bingo patterns
- Line: five in a row across, down or diagonally (the free center space counts).
- Four corners: the four corner squares.
- Postage stamp: a 2×2 block in any corner.
- Letter X: both diagonals.
- Blackout / coverall: every square on the card.
Questions
Are the bingo calls random?
Yes. The full set of numbers is shuffled when a game starts using your browser's random number generator, and each call reveals the next one, so no number repeats.
What's the difference between 75-ball and 90-ball bingo?
75-ball bingo is the US version, with B-I-N-G-O columns on a 5×5 card. 90-ball bingo is popular in the UK and uses tickets with three rows and nine columns.
Can the caller read the numbers out loud?
Yes. Leave 'Read numbers aloud' ticked and turn up your volume. It uses your device's built-in voice.
How do I check a winning card?
The board shows every number called so far. Read the numbers on the winning card and check that each one is lit up.
